Volume 15, Issue 2 publishes a diverse mix of criminology research from Portugal, Finland, Canada, India, Israel and Australia.
Several articles on incarceration are included in this general issue: Eeva Järveläinen and Teemu Rantanen explore how access to the internet and digital services during imprisonment supports incarcerated women’s digital agency and re-entry into society in the Finnish context. Gabrielle Drake and co-authors critically review policy and post-release programs intended to provide throughcare, support, and housing for women exiting prisons. Catherine Flynn, Lee Huggins, Rosemary Sheehan, Chris Trotter and Tess Bartlett present an initial, in-depth investigation of imprisoned fathers’ experiences of visiting and a child-focused visiting program provided by SHINE for Kids (SHINE) in Victoria, Australia.
From Canada, Steven Kohm presents the findings of a qualitative and comparative analysis of media framing of wildfire evacuations in Jasper, Alberta and in Manitoba First Nations communities. And from Australia, Stephen Enciso examines the public preoccupation with youth crime in the Northern Territory and reflects on the Northern Territory Government’s flagship Indigenous justice policy is the Aboriginal Justice Agreement 2021-2027 (NTAJA).
