Dr David Rodríguez Goyes

Dr David R. Goyes is a senior researcher at the University of Oslo in Norway, from where he holds a PhD. He has contributed extensively to the study of North-South global relations, ecological violence, trauma and memory, and Indigenous rights and knowledge. Goyes is a member of several editorial boards. In 2024, Goyes received the ‘Critical Criminologist of the Year Award’ from the American Society of Criminology, and the ‘Highly Commented Article of the Year Award’ from the Sociological Review for the article ‘An incorporeal disease: Covid-19, social trauma, and health injustice in four Colombian Indigenous Communities.’ Before moving to Norway, he participated in the Colombian peace process as a rapporteur, interviewing victims of war and members of guerrilla groups.
